So things have been quiet around Dotson Studios lately and here is why…we have a little girl! Our sweet Ella Grey Dotson was born on July 19th at 4:17 pm, weighing in at 7 lb. 5 oz. and perfect. :)
We were woken up in the middle of the night to discover that she was most definitely on her way and headed to the hospital. After a fairly easy labor (and an epidural) she came in the middle of the afternoon and has changed our lives forever.
We were so happy that both of our parents were able to make it to the hospital before she was born and I’m so grateful that my mother was able to stay a while and help around the house.
Grant was a trooper during the labor and those following days that are so challenging. He also did a wonderful job of beautifully documenting the birth and the first few days of our little girl.
Thank you Grant, for being there for me for for already being such a wonderful father!
Every little girl deserves a logo…

Our first look.

A tiny bit of hair.

A huge congrats to Stephanie and Josh!! We had the honor of documenting their wedding and I have to say – it was absolutely beautiful! It was obvious that every detail was addressed to make this such a beautiful day.
Stephanie and Josh got married at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Red Bank and then headed to Chester Frost Park for a great reception.
Stephanie’s dad has kept up a car that was their grandfather’s. It’s in beautiful condition and was a lot of fun to shoot with.
We had a great day and wish them all the best!

Some couples just make you smile.
What a fun time we had documenting Tyler and Jordan’s wedding day. This couple had a special energy and every moment they were together not only were they laughing but so was anyone around them. What a special treat to have so much laughter in marriage!
They started the day at Grace Presbyterian Church in Dalton, GA and then moved to Trevitt Hall for the reception and both places were beautiful! The church was so full they had to add seating in the foyer, and the reception was a blast since it’s obvious this couple knows how to have a good time.
All the best to the very happy couple who are moving to China very soon. Thanks for letting us be a part of your day!

Amy and Mark’s wedding was a treat to shoot. This sweet couple planned for an outside wedding on the top of the mountain at Grandview for months and sure enough it rained like nobody’s business on their wedding day. They kept their spirits high though, and with some help were able to move the whole thing to the new pavilion in Rock City.
I loved the black, white and yellow used at this wedding. The yellow really stood out – especially against the overcast skies. Very pretty!! And even though this wasn’t the original plan, I loved that the guests sat at the reception tables for the ceremony. It gave it an intimate feel and was really special.
All the best to the you both – thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day!
