Samantha & Brad “We Did”

We had more forces of nature working against us during Samantha & Brad’s We Did session than I think we ever have! First of all, this beautiful couple got married earlier this year but time did not allow for many pictures of just the two of them so we had a “We Did” session. Samantha’s hair looked just like it did on her wedding day, and even her flowers looked almost exactly the same…if it wasn’t for the rain on their wedding day you would think these were taken on that day.

Well, we had rain on this shoot too…. We almost rescheduled but the radar map showed that most of it would be done by the time we started. So we started shooting and right off of the bat we hit a bunch of poison ivy. We treaded carefully but decided to move to another spot so that no one would get any…while avoiding the poison ivy though the mosquitoes started in on poor Samantha. Once we got out of the area we were in the mosquitoes improved, but then it started to sprinkle. We hoped in our cars and headed to the next spot down the trail and found a neat wall to shoot up against. Samantha & I were talking in front of the wall when we realized we were standing in fire ant world. Poor Samantha had fire ants on her feet and going up her legs! Brad quickly picked her up and we got them off of her but we felt so bad! (No shots at that location!) We headed further down the path and that’s about when the glorious light started coming through the trees and I was proud to be a photographer at that moment. We had a beautiful couple and some of the prettiest light we had ever worked in, and it was all worth the struggles from earlier in the shoot.

Congratulations to Samantha & Brad! Thank you for your patience on the shoot and thanks for having us be a part of your wedding. We hope you love your pictures.
