Morgan & Jonathan’s Wedding

We truly enjoyed being a part of Morgan and Jonathan’s beautiful wedding! The weather was rainy but I don’t think anyone at this wedding noticed.

Morgan started the day with a luncheon that was really special. She had a charm cake for all the ladies in her wedding and had something special written for them all. After getting her hair and makeup done the ladies were off to the church and we were soon ready for some group photos. The weather kept us inside for those, but the church had an atrium with beautiful light and great wall and bench, which was fun to work with. Then the rain stopped long enough for us to get a few photos of Morgan in the prayer garden which was wonderful!!! She was so relaxed and happy, and we got some neat shots in this garden.

They had a short but beautiful ceremony, and then we had a few minutes to take Morgan and Jon to a nearby railroad. This was so fun! We don’t often get a chance to go to a cool spot like this with the couple so we had a blast shooting them. Morgan and Jonathan are so deeply in love, and were so happy to be man and wife…it was such a treat to be with them after their ceremony. Then we were off to an awesome reception at Trevitt Hall! I love shooting weddings here because the space looks great from any angle.

A big congratulations to the new couple, and thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of your day!

Winner!

We are so very excited to announce the winner of a free Bridal Photoshoot from the Formal Affair Bridal Show. Those who stopped by our booth and signed our guestbook were entered into a drawing and today we get to tell everyone who the lucky winner is.

The winner is………

Morgan Anderson!!

We have been talking with Morgan and we are looking forward to her photoshoot! I wanted to share more about her and her fiancé and their awesome story. When I read Morgan’s story it meant a lot to me since it involves their son. I know how having Ella changed our love and only made it stronger and I believe they have felt that too. Here’s another great love story that we get to share to the world.

What is your fiancé’s name?
Chris Hight

When/how did you meet?
In college (Shorter College in Rome, GA) through mutual friends

How long did you date?
We started dating on May 15, 2007 and have been inseparable ever since!

Anything special you’d like to share about dating him?
Chris is my best friend. I love how he can make me laugh no matter how bad my day
was. He is the most amazing person I have ever met. When we met, we were nothing but a
couple of college kids who were in love and lived only for the moment. On April 19,
2009, I gave birth to our son. Our love for each other has done nothing but become
more strong and real. I still get butterflies everytime he looks at me. He is an
amazing father and I can’t wait til the day when I can call him my husband.

When/how did you get engaged?
We got engaged on April 8, 2009. I had been out of town with my mom visiting my
sister. When I got home, he walked into the closet and asked me to come in there to
ask me about an outfit we had received at one of our baby showers. When I walked in he
was down on one knee and asked me to be his wife!

Were you surprised?
We had definitely talked about marriage and we had went to look at rings. Toward the
end of my pregnancy we decided that we wanted to get married before our son was born,
so I knew it was coming. We were just going to have a simple ceremony with just our
family and closest friends. I just didn’t know when. Then, he told me that we just
didn’t have the money and wasn’t able to buy me a ring. So he was pretty sneaky about
it. We didn’t get to get married because I went into labor a week before our wedding!!

What is your ring like?
Gorgeous! He knew I didn’t want anything original or traditional. It is a round
stone with smaller diamonds going around it in a circle. The band of it also has
diamonds.

Any details of your wedding plans that you would like to share?
I just recently got my wedding dress! We have somewhat set a date. September 4, 2010
(hopefully). It’s a special day to us because it’s my grandparents wedding
anniversary. We hope and pray we can be together as long as they have been (54 years!)

We are looking forward to talking to Morgan more as we find a time and the perfect location for the shoot. We’ll be sure to post some of the photos from the shoot. I’m sure we’ll get some gorgeous pictures of Morgan in her dress!!

WINNER!

We are so very excited to announce the winner of a free Bridal Photoshoot from the Premier Bridal Show. Those who stopped by our booth and signed our guestbook were entered into a drawing and today we get to tell everyone who the lucky winner is.

The winner was picked at random and the winner is………

Jamie King!!

We have been talking with Jamie and we are all looking forward to her photoshoot. I wanted to share more about her and her fiancé and she was kind enough to answer my questions. I never get tired of hearing stories of how people meet, fall in love, and get married. I guess I’m in the right business because as I read Jamie’s answers I got all excited. So here’s another great love story that we get to share to the world.

What is your fiancé’s name?
Daniel Brennan

When/how did you meet?
We met in college (UTC) in 2004

How long did you date?
We started dating in January 2005 when he invited me to his fraternity formal event. We have been dating a little over five years now.

Anything special you’d like to share about dating him?
We were both pretty young when we started dating and we have had the opportunity to really grow up together. We are best friends and we share everything together, including our love for the outdoors, camping, hiking, and our beautiful German Shepherd, Zeus.

When/how did you get engaged?
We got engaged during Christmas. But, there was a mix-up with the jeweler and my ring did not come in on time. He wouldn’t tell me what he was getting me, but I knew it must have been something pretty big because he was so worried about it. So, on the 28 of December, he took me out to dinner and then asked me to marry him!

Were you surprised?
I sort-of knew it was coming (he’s not very good at keeping a secret from me!) And I picked out the type of ring I wanted already.

What is your ring like?
I wanted something different, so my ring is actually a square cut amethyst surrounded by diamonds.

Any details of your wedding plans that you would like to share?
We have decided to have an outdoor ceremony at Fall Creek Falls State Park, and because it is so hot in the summer time, we have pushed our wedding date back to October.  The leaves will be beautiful and the weather will be perfect for an outdoor ceremony.

We are meeting again with Jamie later this week to find a time for the shoot and we look forward to talking to her and taking fabulous bridal photos.

If you are planning a wedding and would like the opportunity for free bridal photos we are doing the drawing again at the Formal Affair bridal show on February 21st.  Be sure to come by our booth and sign our guest book!!

Bridal Show Booth

So we decided that this year for the Premier Bride bridal show we would do a new booth to go with our new logo and website. We sat there one night talking about how we might want the booth to look and Grant said he wanted to make it look like a gallery but to do something interesting with wood. Sounded good to me so he grabbed a notebook and sketched this:

We headed to the stores to look at supplies and before we knew it our garage was full of lumber and paint. We called in the parents who were a huge help. My parents came the weekend before the show to help build, and Grant’s parents came in the weekend of the show to help with final touches and set up.

We had a great time at the show!  I love talking to so many brides in one day. I love looking at all the rings and hearing about their wedding plans.

We had a drawing for a bride to win a free bridal session and hope to announce the winner for that soon.

If you missed us you can catch us at the Formal Affair bridal show on February 21st.

Here are some more pictures of our booth. We were surprised at how much it looked like the original design, especially since it was just sketched late one night.
