We are Grant & Sara Dotson. As a husband and wife team, we bring a unique perspective to photography, one influenced by life experiences as well as comprehensive art and design training. Our cameras are an extension of not only our eyes, but our minds and hearts, instantly capturing moments and emotions just as they occur. We enjoy getting to know our clients on a personal level and helping them feel that they're a part of a partnership. Long before Darby and Carl got engaged, he took her to the Blue Hole on Montlake Mountain and said “this is where we should do our engagement photos.” When she told me that, I knew we had to make it happen. So we checked the fall colors forecast, and picked just the right time of day for the best light. They did the rest, just by being their sweet selves in front of the camera. Thanks for a fun shoot, Darby and Carl! Can’t wait for the wedding.
Kasie and Nathan invited us to Kentucky to photograph their beautiful wedding at the Barn at Cedar Groves. Kasie is so sweet, and we really hoped she’d get the kind of sun-drenched wedding day she’d told us about. So we were uneasy when we woke up to heavy rain for their outdoor ceremony. But throughout the day, the rain turned to drizzle, and the drizzle gave way to cloudy skies. And miraculously, the heavens literally opened for them just as they were lining up for the ceremony. We had gorgeous sun for about an hour, just enough time for their ceremony and portraits. We’re so excited that happened for them (and for the amazing photos we were able to get, too!).

Amanda and Eric live in Atlanta, but their wedding was held just down the street from us in Ringgold, GA. After meeting them during their engagement shoot, I knew we were in for a treat on the wedding day. We had amazing light for their early fall ceremony outdoors, and we were able to slip away from some gorgeous portraits with them before the reception. After that, they lit a single sky lantern at dusk, and then spent the night dancing. We had an amazing time with you guys—enjoy your photos!
This family is so special to us! We’ve known Savanna and her family since she was a teenager, and she’s watched our kids for years as we photographed other couple’s weddings. So we were so honored when she got engaged and asked us to photograph her own wedding. They were married at the amazing First Cumberland Presbyterian church in Chattanooga, and Ben clearly doted on his beautiful bride. It was such a treat to see them and their families come together and celebrate—and to see our own family celebrate, since our kids were guests at the reception too!
